Kartik is considered the holiest month in the Vaishnava calendar. It is especially dear to Lord Krishna and is celebrated with increased devotion, offerings of lamps (deepas), and the chanting of the Damodarastakam. Devotees observe this sacred time by performing special vows, engaging in extra devotional practices, and seeking the mercy of Sri Radha and Krishna.
